Just a note to let you all know that we raised a fantastic £140 for Sports Relief, I would like to thank all the people that took part and gave generously for this great cause.
After a shaky start a lot of people got used to playing with the old wooden racket and we all witnessed some great squash, the grand finally was the game between Matt Clarke and our young gun, Michael Burn (the hardest hitter in town). Michael coming away with a win in a hard fought 5th game. Luckily no one got any splinters so the first aid kit was not required! All in all a good day was had by everyone, with a well deserved drink in The George afterwards to replenish our energy supplies.
I would like to thank Jon Woolsey for offering the free racket restring worth £25 and Steve May for the £20 voucher from Shore Watersports, which was won in the raffle by Kim Long and Michael Burn respectively, as well as all the other people that brought items in for the raffle.
I would also like to thank Matt Williams, Inspire Leisure for letting us have the courts FOC.
Many thanks once again to everyone that supported the event.
